I didn’t get to say goodbye

Before you flew away.

There were still yet more days to live,

So many words to say.

I miss you so; it hurts so bad.

The tears won’t stop, it seems.

A faithful friend of many years,

We were a special team.

YOU’LL always be here in my life,

But on the other shore.

For now, I know you are with all

The loved ones gone before.
