Navigating Life

A boat sitting in the calm water, enjoying the breeze and sun. How serene this is. How we hope our days would be.

But we know the same winds that are gentle at our back can also be relentless in our face. The sunlight that warms our days can likewise burn. Calm waters can become treacherous to navigate. We mustn’t ever be blinded by beauty but rather harness it as best we can.

Life is partly what we make of it and partly what is given to us. Try as we might, we easily get off course. Remember, even the smallest rudder can change the direction of a boat. James 3:4, NLT: And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong.

Always look for the light.
