Never Gone- a poem
ONE day, consumed by my own thoughts,
I set out with my plans.
Along the quiet beach, I left
My footprints in the sand.
THEN on my path, returning home,
The tide had come along,
And as it washed over the shore
My footprints had all gone.
AND yet, although I saw no signs
Of where my feet had been,
The memories of every step
Came back to me again.
FOR life, once lived, is never gone,
And though it’s out of sight,
you’ll carry it throughout your days,
And hold it in the night.
