… but human ❤️

What are we but human?

We revel in joy,

Yet understand pain.

The heat of the sun and

The cold of the rain.

We rise in achievement,

And fall in defeat.

We strive to be better,

And then we repeat.

What are we but human?

We try to speak softly,

But sometimes we scream.

We witness the truth,

Yet still dare to dream.

We bend and we break,

And somehow survive.

Though at times it’s hard,

We’re glad we’re alive.

What are we but human?

A strange combination,

We’re strong and yet weak,

We live with ideas,

As we listen and speak.

Embracing ourselves,

We follow the star.

We’re the perfectly,

Imperfect person we are.
