Life, as it Comes- a poem

BREATHE, then breathe again,

As life comes rushing by.

You find your footing, make your plan,

And then go forth to try.

YOUR compass set, directions made,

And so the journey starts.

Then, for a moment, ever brief,

You follow every chart.

BUT soon you stop and realize

That life is- as it comes.

Each day, a new discovery.

Each morning, a new sun.

AND revelation comes at last,

That you are merely here,

To make the best of what you have

And hold on to what’s dear.
