Badge of Honor

A tree from this past summer with multiple burls caught my eye. Interestingly, burls are formed as a result of stress to the tree area. It could be insect, injury, a multiple of reasons. They are natures way of healing the area and protecting the tree. Not much different from a scar on us, left behind as proof that we survived.

Wear scars as a badge of honor and stand tall as a tree.
