Memory Lane- a poem
I took a walk down memory lane
Quite eager yet to find,
The remnants of my yesterdays,
And what would come to mind.
FOR as a child, I had a bear,
I carried all the while.
And every time I’d hug that bear,
My face would have a smile.
THEN, as I grew into myself,
My mom gave me her ring.
I wear it still, and to this day,
It makes my heart yet sing.
AND I remember every day,
The way he made me smile.
And how we held each other’s hands
Along the many miles.
I’M older now, yet when I hold
That bear that I so love,
And see my mom’s ring on my hand,
I feel her smile above.
AND as I walk my miles today,
I’m not alone, you see,
For all the love and memories
Will always be with me.
