History in Motion

The Friendship replica tall ship docked off Derby Street in Salem, MA

The Friendship of Salem. A 171-foot replica of the Friendship from 1797 East Indiaman. It was built in 2000 and usually operates as a stationary museum ship during most of the year.

History is all around us. Sometimes presented grandly, as in the tall ship above, while other times quietly, as in personal pictures of our yesterdays.

The past is such a part of who we have become-or overcome, today. I’ve heard it said to, “forget the mistake, remember the lesson.” Wise words.

Take from your past strengths and, using them, create a better today and a hopeful tomorrow.
