Life Changes

There is a Chinese idiom that says, “Falling leaves return to their roots”. In theory, meaning we find ourselves at times gravitating back to our “roots” as we grow. Family, old traditions and customs shared in our past. “Comfort food”, if you will, for our soul.

In truth, even nature follows this pattern. New leaves sprout in the springtime to then give beautiful shade from the tree. As the seasons shift, the leaves change as well and begin to fall. Their purpose isn’t over, as they return to their roots and help sustain the tree for another winter to be followed by another spring.

Life changes. So do we. It’s okay.
