Within my Hands- a poem

I held my life within my hands

As tightly as I could.

Embracing all that was my life,

As anybody would.

But one day, as I stumbled down,

My hands released their grip.

I landed on my knees, and found

My life began to slip.

I watched as days appeared to fall

Through fingers of my hand.

I struggled to regain my strength,

And find a way to stand.

But while my hands then went to prayer,

I felt You reach for me.

To lift me up and give me strength,

And sight so I could see.

The path was dark and all so new,

No compass was in sight.

And yet I felt Your presence near,

While offering the light.

I now hold life within my hands,

And thank You every day,

For purpose You have given me,

And showing me the way.
