Going about our daily business, my neighbors and I found ourselves being greeted by adolescent squirrels with the strangest behavior. They thought we were their mothers.

Turns out, when an adolescent squirrel is orphaned, their inhibitions to humans disappear, thus causing our attraction to them as parents.

Let me fast-forward through the many harrowing hours it took to find someone with availability and kindness to contact me. Her name is Stephanie, and she wears her halo beautifully.
