And so you Will- a poem

TODAY I learned the weight behind

A small word, as you see,

I went to ask an elder for

Their wisdom to guide me.

I shared my thoughts and worries, too,

And soon I heard her say,

“I see the time has come for you

To change along your way.”

“BUT I don’t want to change”, I said.

“It throws me off my feet.

It looks me squarely in the eye

And forces me to meet.”

“BUT life is changing every day,”

She whispered gently, still.

And then she reached out for my hand

And said, “and so you will.”
