“Peek-a-boo”- a poem

I walked beside my younger self,

Revisiting the past.

I watched the childhood games we played,

It all went by so fast.

I paused and asked my youthful self,

What one thing learned was best?

“To laugh out loud and play each day,

And smile above the rest.

WHO would’ve guessed that as a child

The most important things,

Would stay with me throughout my days,

And help to give me wings.

YOUTH is but a memory,

Yet still, I find each day,

A time to laugh, a time to smile,

And yes, a time to play.
