Memories and Strength- a poem
WHAT I thought was lost to years
And nowhere left to find,
Was merely hiding deep inside
The corners of my mind.
TUCKED away and neatly stored,
Like treasures in a row,
Were all the memories left behind
Since time you had to go.
I pulled them out, one by one,
And gently brushed them off.
Then placed them high, upon a shelf
Throughout my tiny loft.
SURROUNDED by your strength, I wake
And face each day anew.
I’m happy to be who I am
And have the love of you.
